Japanese Black Ink Painting Beginners Online Program

A new In-Person Japanese Black Ink Painting Workshop on in Ireland this March is now open for booking. This One-Day Workshop at the Brú Ború Cultural Centre beside the historic Rock of Cashel in Cashel, Co. Tipperary will take place on Saturday the 2nd of March from 10am - 4pm. 

In this Workshop for Beginners, participants will learn brushstrokes and techniques used for painting grasses, flowers, trees and mountains.

Sumi-e is the Japanese word for the Art of Black Ink Painting. It is a unique art form in which the fewest possible strokes are used to capture the essence of the subject being painted using only black ink, handmade paper and a special brush. It is calming and relaxing.

Come join us for this Japanese Black Ink Painting Residential Weekend Workshop for Beginners to take place at Tigh Roy Cultural Centre in the beautiful Glen of Aherlow from the 10th - 12th November 2023.

In this Weekend Workshop for Beginners, participants will learn basic brushstrokes and techniques for painting grasses, flowers, trees and mountains, relax with a visit to a traditional Finnish wood-burning sauna, and enjoy healthy home-cooked meals. 

Japanese Black Ink Painting is a unique art form using only black ink, handmade paper and a special brush. It is a calming and relaxing activity.

This Workshop is also suitable as a review/refresher for those who have previously participated in our classes/workshops.
