Japanese Black Ink Painting Residential Weekend Workshop in the Glen of Aherlow this November

Come join us for this Japanese Black Ink Painting Residential Weekend Workshop for Beginners to take place at Tigh Roy Cultural Centre in the beautiful Glen of Aherlow from the 10th - 12th November 2023.

In this Weekend Workshop for Beginners, participants will learn basic brushstrokes and techniques for painting grasses, flowers, trees and mountains, relax with a visit to a traditional Finnish wood-burning sauna, and enjoy healthy home-cooked meals. 

Japanese Black Ink Painting is a unique art form using only black ink, handmade paper and a special brush. It is a calming and relaxing activity.

This Workshop is also suitable as a review/refresher for those who have previously participated in our classes/workshops.

Friday evening: Introductory dinner

Saturday: Japanese Black Ink Painting Workshop from 10am-4pm followed by a visit to Tigh Roy’s traditional Finnish wood-burning sauna

Sunday: Japanese Black Ink Painting Workshop from 10am-4pm with optional nature walk

Two night’s accommodation, healthy home-cooked meals and visit to sauna are included. Special diets can be accommodated. No materials are required as the fee includes use of materials.
